We’re on a mission to cut through the noise and talk about the real challenges that data teams face in our fast-moving industry. And what is the best way to do this? Listen to the people in the trenches!

So we’re launching a research project to do just that. It all started with a conversation and a couple of book recommendations from a seasoned product manager. He pointed me towards “When Coffee and Kale Compete” and “The Mom Test.” While I enjoyed both, “The Mom Test” really struck a chord. It reminded me of something crucial: the power of genuine, unbiased conversations about people’s day-to-day work. And that’s why I’m reaching out to you today — to talk about data.

We’re bombarded daily with articles, webinars, and “miracle” solutions about data. But how much of it bridges the gap between theory and the messy reality of managing data within a fast-paced organization?

Every data team is unique, yet we keep seeing similar struggles pop up. Some teams seem to nail it, while others hit roadblocks with what appears to be the same setup. What makes the difference? Is it the tools? The team dynamics? A secret stash of coffee? We want to find out! We’re ditching the surveys and diving deep into real conversations with data professionals like you.
